In brief
For DWT Polska and ENGIE, RAO organised a Safety Day featuring a practical wind turbine nacelle evacuation exercise. More than a dozen participants practised evacuating from a height of approximately 100 metres under the supervision of the RAO team. The exercise was carried out safely and combined with a briefing on HSE, evacuation procedures, and safe working practices on wind turbines.
Project
For DWT Polska and ENGIE, RAO prepared a practical wind turbine evacuation exercise. Participants practised evacuating from a nacelle located approximately 100 metres above ground level. The exercise required the safe preparation and evacuation of more than a dozen participants from the nacelle. The scenario was designed to provide hands-on practice and reinforce evacuation procedures and safety principles.
RAO scope of work
RAO prepared and conducted the evacuation exercise and presented its approach to safety when working at height. The session covered evacuation procedures, HSE requirements, and key aspects of working on wind turbines, including knowledge of GWO standards.
Execution
Participants took turns practising evacuation from the nacelle under the supervision of the RAO team. Before the exercise, the team reviewed the required procedures and safety requirements. Afterwards, participants had the opportunity to refresh their knowledge and discuss the procedures used when working on wind turbines
Result
The exercise was completed safely. More than a dozen participants had the opportunity to practise a nacelle evacuation and refresh their knowledge of HSE requirements and procedures for working on wind turbines.
Safety
Safety Score: 100% | Zero Harm / Zero LTI
