In brief
RAO supported the installation of a pre-piling template beneath the Apollo jack-up vessel. Marcin worked as a rope access rigger and day shift supervisor, while also coordinating the ALE and Conbit teams on site. The scope included accessing the area beneath the vessel, attaching rigging lines, and supporting the installation of the template beneath the hull. Barge loading, transport, and the overall installation package were within ALE’s scope.
Project
The project involved the installation of a pre-piling template — a positioning frame used to accurately position piles before the installation of a jacket foundation for an offshore wind farm. The work was carried out alongside DEME’s Apollo jack-up vessel.

ALE’s scope included loading the template onto a barge, transporting it, and carrying out the installation. RAO provided on-site support for rope access, rigging, and team coordination.
RAO scope of work

The team accessed the area beneath the vessel, attached rigging lines, and supported the installation of the template beneath the hull. The work required close coordination between rigging activities, the rope access team, and operations carried out by the project partners.

Execution

The operation formed part of a larger installation package delivered by ALE. The offshore experience of the ALE and Conbit teams enabled the transport and installation of the pre-piling template to be coordinated in line with the client’s schedule.

Result
The pre-piling template was successfully installed beneath the Apollo jack-up vessel in preparation for the subsequent piling operations for the jacket foundation.
